"Not just a song, but a message
...not a performance, but a purpose!"
If you've ever had the opportunity of experiencing the music of the distinctively, Christian vocalist, evangelist and recording artist, Robert Winecoff, you, without a doubt, know that behind his music there is a message and a purpose!
The Carolina native came to a personal faith in Jesus Christ, January 20, 1977, at the age of 17. Robert said that music has always been important to him. "Even as a young person, it was apparent that God had blessed me with musical ability. I began singing in my church and later became Worship Leader." Robert said.
Having attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Robert moved to Jacksonville, Florida in January 1979 to take on responsibilities as Worship Leader and Youth Pastor of a local congregation.
August 1988, Robert stated, marked a turning point in his life. "I surrendered to the call of God for full time evangelism in the local church. I am fully aware of how hard it is to find good, wholesome, family-oriented Christian music. I sing the type of music that is glorifying to Christ, up lifts the Christian and draws the sinner to a faith in our Lord!" Robert said that he believes that Believers are to live separated lives. He said that this mindset must carry over in the Christian music arena. "I feel that our music must be Godly! Music wasn't meant to be boring. We can praise the Lord, laugh, have fun and be happy, but in doing so we must honor and glorify God!"
Not only has Brother Robert served as Worship Leader, but also Youth Pastor and church soloist. He has had the privilege of singing and preaching in many churches through out America and in many foreign countries.
While a member of the First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida, Brother Robert was frequently called upon to minister to the 10,000 member congregation and a featured artist at the Pastor's Schools and Conferences. Robert has also been featured on The Old Time Gospel Hour with the late, Dr. Jerry Falwell and has appeared at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.
"It has always been my prayer and passion that God will use me and the talent that He has blessed and trusted me with to reach souls for Him! Music is an international language and a vehicle which we use to deliver the Gospel. Therefore; I am confident that the Lord can take our music, it's lyrics and our message to work in the hearts of people. One of my favorite passages of scripture states it best: '...admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
Brother Robert, his beautiful wife, Amy and their children, Kierstyn and Zachary make their home in Greer, SC, approximately 15 minutes from Greenville.
